I can’t believe we’re almost halfway through December already and, you know what that means, right?! It’s almost freakin’ Christmas! It’s 12 days away to be exact, it’s one more Tuesday away – yikes!
So, have you finished your Christmas shopping yet?
I have! Don’t mean to brag or anything but I just couldn’t face the shops this year. My anxiety goes through the roof, I get cranky, other shoppers are cranky, it’s hard to find a car park… and the list goes on. I decided this year I was going to start my shopping early so I could do the bulk of it online – smart, hey? I’m pretty proud of myself!
If you need some last-minute gift ideas, keep reading!
Aside from some potential gift inspiration, I wanted to create a list of gifts that are meaningful, beautiful and help spread the message of self-love. So if you are buying for your bestie, your mum, your sister or even your god damn gorgeous self, check out my favourite self-love gifts & support some incredible humans at the same time. And, if you’ve already finished your Christmas shopping, bookmark these lil’ businesses for giftspiration next year!
I am a massive fan of Fiona from Whimsy’s beautiful creations. She makes gorgeous polymer clay jewellery and her pieces are so vibrant and colourful. There are so many unique designs, the hardest decision is having to choose!
In addition to her handmade jewellery, she sells incredible body positive illustrations that are so freakin’ empowering & inspiring. I absolutely adore my set!
What I love about Whimsy the most is Fiona’s honesty about her own struggles with negative body image and disordered eating and how she used her creativity to help her through her recovery. Not to mention the rockin’ tagline – ‘Whimsy is one of a kind, just like you!’.
Like Fiona, Bron, the found of Bopo Women has used her own experiences with negative body image & an eating disorder to create something magical!
Bopo Women is a skincare brand that gives a big fat middle finger to the beauty industry and companies who prey on our insecurities & make huge profits from doing so. Instead of selling products for ‘flaws’, Bopo Women creates beautiful products that empower women & encourage them to love & embrace their bodies – not fix them! Now that’s a beauty brand I can get behind!
Amy from Confetti Rebels designs the BEST t-shirts EVER! From empowering and inspiring slogans, to cheeky and absolutely sassy (erm, I’m A Fucking Delight – yes please!), you are bound to find something for the special gal in your life!
Confetti Rebels is a size inclusive brand and next year, she’ll be releasing brand new plus sizes!
I’m sure you’ve seen me rocking my ‘Worthy’ and ‘Enough’ tees but here’s another photo cause they make me feel so damn good!
If there is a woman in your life that is really struggling with body image and acceptance- this is the book for her. Although we still have a long way to go, Taryn has really got the ball moving in terms of embracing ourselves and our bodies. And if you haven’t seen her documentary ‘Embrace’, watch it, stat!
Catt from BubbleCatt Designs makes the CUTEST earrings! My absolute fave though are the designs from her ‘Real Bodies’ collection. Earlier this year, Catt worked with a group of people to create earrings featuring pictures of their own bodies!! How rad is that?! Rumour has it that there will be another collection next year and I can’t wait to see it! There are still a couple of boob designs left, so get in quick if that’s your thing!
This Body Love Butter from The Body Love Collective sounds delightful! Owner, Elysia does some absolutely incredible work with women and body love.
Creating a daily ritual for yourself and lathering yourself in body butter is an act of self-love (and self-care!). It’s a lovely way to connect with your body, not to mention feeling and smelling amazing afterwards! The Body Love Butter makes a great little addition to a self-love hamper or a little thoughtful gift for someone you care about.
Since we’re chatting all things self-love, I had to squeeze in the Summer of Self Love programme. If you want to share the gift of self-love this year, gift vouchers are available. They can be purchased right up until Christmas Eve and you don’t even have to leave the house – score!
Or maybe you’re seeking the gift of self-love this year? Drop a hint or two to your nearest and dearest and I can hook Santa up with a gift voucher that has your name on it!
